2024

2nd Year of participation in "Switch Off, Turn Up" Campaign

Sunray Building on Sungei Kadut Street 3 participated in this campaign for the second consecutive year. Extending from last year's implementation, lighting will now also be switched off in L1 (Metal Workshop, Logistic Area, Spray Paint Room), L3 (Carpentry Workshop) and L5 (Warehouse) during lunch breaks daily. There will also be a partial switch-off of machinery in these areas during the break.

SunrayCares: Empowering Senior Communities through Furniture Donation Drive to PeCCO

Sunray is honored to have been a part of this impactful initiative, contributing to both social responsibility and sustainability. Partnering with PEACE-Connect Anglican Cluster Operator (PeCCO), we take pride in knowing that our donation exercise extends the lifespan of furniture, giving them a second lease on life. Moreover, we are grateful that our efforts come at an opportune time to support the expansion of PEACE-Connect‘s new office and operation, creating welcoming and comforting spaces for their staffs, clients, and volunteers.

Second Life: Sunray Furniture Donation Drive to suport Sustainability & CSR

Sunray is honoured to be part of this meaningful movement that resonates deeply with our sustainability commitment! The mint condition furniture will find new homes and be put to good use, making a difference by supporting NPO connections like REACH, Singapore Anglican Community Services (Jurong West), Singapore Anglican Community Services (Jurong East), Lion Befriender, and PEACE-Connect.

2023

"Switch Off, Turn Up" Campaign

In conjunction with the “Switch Off, Turn Up (SOTU) Campaign” of i Light Singapore, Sunray Building participated by turning off lighting, and adjusting air conditioning temperatures for a month, from 01 June to 30 June 2023. Non-essential areas lighting, and a portion of office lightings were switched off during the lunch break. Additionally, the air conditioning in common areas was raised by 1°C, set to 25°C from 3pm onwards daily.

 

Having received warm support from the Sunrayians, these practices has been continued ever since, extending beyond the original event period.

2022

Explorers of Sentosa: Donation of Waste Wood to Create Giant Sculptures

What does recycling mean to you? For renowned artist Thomas Dambo, it simply means rethinking the concept of trash, as discarded material is used to create these eyecatching giant sculptures of trolls from Danish folklore.

 

Sunray is honoured to contribute our existing stock of waste wood to Sentosa Development Corporation and this exhibiton, in the name of sustainability and giving new life to discarded items.

 

The exhibition, termed the Explorers of Sentosa, will be displayed until the end of 2024 and is free for all to access.

2022

Repurposing Furniture for EQUAL-ARK

Sunray sponsored renovation, and salvaged old furnitures from other project sites, and repurpose them into new for EQUAL-ARK. We are delighted that the effort able to help Equal-Ark to be more nimble to changing programme needs.

BCA-HPB Green Mark for Healthier Workplaces (Gold Plus)

On 2021, Sunray Building is certified with BCA-HPB Green Mark (Gold Plus) for Healthier Workplaces.

2019

Sponsored Singapore World Water Day's "Take A Shot, Save The Drops" Photography Competition 2019

Sunray celebrated Singapore World Water Day 2019 as a sponsor of "Take A Shot, Save The Drops" photography competition, which was organised by the NYAA (National Youth Achievement Award) Council in partnership with PUB.

 

The competition was organized with the aim to ignite the creative minds of young photographers, aged between 13 and 30 years old, to capture their perspectives of water conservation through their lenses.

2018

Certified as PUB Water Efficient Building (WEB)

As a business that values the conservation of resources, in 2018, Sunray Building was successfully certified as a Water Efficient (Basic) Building under the PUB Programme. This headquarters premises have been installed with water efficient fittings and have adopted the WEB recommended flow rates and flush volume.

Pot Your own ECO Desk Plants & Sunrayian's Save the Earth Pledge

On the eve of Singapore's 53rd National Day, Sunray has encouraged our staffs to go green. In line with the National Day celebrations, we have created a Singapore flag from individual pledge on going green office as well as plant their own desk plant.

2017

Eco-Office Certified

Sunray Building has been certified as an Eco-Office by the Singapore Environment Council, for adopting effective and environmentally-friendly practices.

2015

Upcycled Office Furniture for Sunray HQ

With sustainability being rooted in the organizational culture, waste wood from wooden crates were skilfully upcycled by our team of carpentry workers into office furniture that are being used in the Sunray HQ Office. Example are upcycled meeting table in open office are and meeting rooms, table and benches in communal pantry, and low coffee table at reception area.

2015

Sunray’s new Headquarters at Sungei Kadut

Sunray is proud to receive BCA Green Mark Gold Plus Award for office interior of our new Headquarters building during the 2015 BCA Award Ceremony. Sunray is the main contractor and renovation consultant of this building.

2014

SFIC 30 LifeStories - 'Remembering Parks' in which we specially fabrciated creative outdoor furniture with tree logs removed from parks

30 LifeStories - Remembering Parks is a project that brings together thirty homegrown designers and artists, who delving into their memories of time spent in Singapore’s parks and gardens..

 

Drawing inspiration from these experiences, they created innovative design installations ousing logs salvaged around Singapore. These included trees damaged by weather or removed to make way for urban development.

 

By breathing new life into these pruned logs, the project highlights the topic of sustainability while narrating the story of the wood's origins and the people. Sunray is proud to be one of thirteen manufacturers who collaborated with designers on actual creations based on their bold designs. This project is organised by SFIC, and co-presented by the Sculpture Society (Singapore) and the National Parks Board.

2014

Community Recycling Project of Buddhist Compassion Relief Tzu Chi Foundation (Singapore)

Sunray supports community Recycling Projects by donating recyable items and discarded papers to Tzu Chi Foundation. The income generated is utilized for local charitable causes to help the needy families in the community.

2012

''Bench Project' URA - Remembering National Stadium

A URA-SFIC project that lasted from 2012 to 2013. Salvaged wooden seating planks from the former National Stadium were transformed into creatively designed benches that commemorate this national icon.

 

Sunray Woodcraft Construction Pte Ltd is honoured to be one of the five local manufacturers that supported this initiative. As a design competition partner, Sunray collaborated with particpating designers to bring their bench designs to life as beautiful outdoor installations.

 

From the project, 95 benches have been installed in 23 public spaces and iconic landmarks across Singapore include The URA Centre, Marina Bay, Esplanade, Singapore River, Gardens by the Bay, Gillman Barracks, infusing vibrancy to the city.

2009

Integration of ISO 14001 (EMS) into QEOHS Management System

Sunray implemented IMS (Integrated Management System) by integrated ISO 14001 - Environment Management System with ISO 9001- Quality Management System, and OHSAS 18001- Occupational Health & Safety (now ISO 45001)
